New Post: WLD file format
Looks great so far! I've made you an Editor on the project, which means you should be able to add/edit documentation wiki pages. I'm fine with whatever format.

Created Unassigned: The interface defaulting to a black map (no spoilers) is confusing as a new user [43179]
Since the implementation of the Players View/Spoilers feature, the interface defaults to a completely black map (No Spoilers) when a map is first loaded. This is quite confusing to anyone who has never encountered this feature before. It's not clear at all to the user that this is being done intentionally and TerraMap is not just buggy/broken.
One solution would be a text overlay on the map when in No Spoilers mode explaining that the "Players:" dropdown needs to be changed in order to see the map.

To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Created Unassigned: abnormal disk activity [43181]
I have noticed that with the latest version of the TerraMap. That there is more then usual disk activity when moving the map around. I switched back to a version before this update and confirmed , with perfmon that the older version didnt access the disk as much or at all when moving the map around. heres a screen cap of the perfmon window [Imgur](http://i.imgur.com/nQ05iz4.png)

Comments: Thanks for the feedback! TerraMap should only ever directly read the world and player files. The other files listed are from the .NET Framework, and are not directly accessed by TerraMap. After loading the world and player files, TerraMap should not be (directly) accessing the disk for anything. How much RAM do you have? You might take a look at the Memory tab in Resource Monitor. TerraMap uses a lot of RAM, especially on large world files, and Windows may be paging memory to disk. The latest version uses even more RAM than before, to load the player map file. I'll investigate more, just to be sure. Thanks!

New Post: Suggestion
Hi, I would girst like to congratulate you for what's to me the best terraria map viewer to date.
I would suggest something: is it possible that each time you switch worlds with a search item highlighted it would still display the number of aformentionned highlighted tiles automatically? Right now it only works this way on the first world you select the items to filter and I have to manually reclick the highlight all button to check the information
Thanks.

Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback, it means a lot to me.
Great suggestion, I'll add it to the to-do list. I hope to spend some time on a new update soon.

Created Feature: Display the number of highlighted tiles after loading a new world [43182]
From user Restproof:
"Is it possible that each time you switch worlds with a search item highlighted it would still display the number of aforementioned highlighted tiles automatically? Right now it only works this way on the first world you select the items to filter and I have to manually re-click the highlight all button to check the information."

New Post: According to Norton...
According to Norton Internet Security for Idiots, TerraMap is unsafe and has been removed. Is it really unsafe, or have I just made poor internet security choices?
↧
↧
New Post: According to Norton...
Does it give any specifics?
It is an exe and a bunch of dlls in a zip file on the internet, so I'm sure it looks sketchy. Most commercial applications are signed and distributed via installers. Since TerraMap is just an open source side project, I haven't bothered with any of that.
I promise that I'm not doing anything nefarious in the code. But the beauty of it being open source is that you can verify for yourself, if you choose not to trust me. :)

It says it is an Insight Network Threat.
Now unless I'm mistaken that means the majority of people who have used it have reported it as sketchy or unsafe. It says it was released 17 days ago and about 30-50 people in the norton community have used it. Now of course, I know I can just configure
norton so that it doesn't block, but I'm not 100% sure. How would I go about checking this source code? (I'm not really a technical whizz, if that's the correct term)

New Post: According to Norton...
Does it give a link for more information or anything? I have not yet been able to find any more information on why it's flagged as unsafe. It may just be that it's an unsigned zip, instead of a signed installer.
I definitely won't recommend that you bypass Norton or any other antivirus software in order to use TerraMap. If you're not a software developer, there's unfortunately not much you can do personally to review the source code. But it is reassuring, at least, that the source code is there for others to review.
I will say that TerraMap has been downloaded 138,325 times (5,804 just for the latest release), and this is the first time I can think of that someone has reported an issue like this.
There's also the online version, which runs in the browser and doesn't require any files to be downloaded or installed. It should work with any modern browser (Chrome, FireFox,, Edge, IE11), on Windows, Mac, and Linux: https://terramap.github.io

No link for information. I don't mean bypassing Norton, switching it off entirely or something. It's configurable so that you can stop it from removing files that you trust.
Some information that I left out last time: It has (WS.REPUTATION.1), meaning that it has a bad reputation.
According to Norton, the file did little else than have a poor reputation.
Anyway, I'll check out this browser version.
Thanks!

New Post: According to Norton...
Yeah, I understand, but I won't even recommend trusting and removing the file. Especially if something harmful had actually been injected into TerraMap (somehow).
Thanks again for the report and info, I'll keep investigating and see what I can find.
Hopefully the online web version will suit your needs in the mean time.
